I was going through some old notebooks this weekend and found a project from culinary school: developing a menu for your fictional restaurant. Most of them were pretty boring, but I still think it would be cool to find these on a menu:
Sopa de Miro: A roasted red pepper soup that plays off the paintings of Joan Miro. The soup, garnishes and oils and purees on it would all be vibrant colors and shapes, evoking on of his paintings.
Tic-Tac-Toe: An interactive desert, perhaps a creme brulee formed into a tic-tac-toe board, where diners alternate cracking them open and adding a fruit compote to mark their square.
Rubik's Cube: A cube of roasted vegetables made of smaller roasted vegetable cubes - squash, eggplant, potato, yam, etc. Key is perfect symmetry, but I don't know how to do it and keep any kind of texture on the veggies. Forming them into a gelatin would be gross.
