I was in a crappy mood for a couple of days, so I decided the best thing to do was to make something.
This small stove (either a hobo stove or a rocket stove, depending on how you're feeling) is made of three basic soup cans and a #10 can. The chimney inside is insulated with salt, which helps maintain temperatures and create an efficient burn chamber.
It's basic and simple and didn't take long to put together. Similar designs are used in developing areas where materials and fuels are scarce. Added benefit is that it burns hot and efficient, reducing emissions.
This was just an experiment, but this week I'm picking up bricks to construct an outdoor oven, and will be using this stove design, scaled up, to create a single burner as well. Hopefully the finished product will yield pizza and not tetanus.
